Lipizzanerheimat - Steirische Rucksackdörfer

The Lipizzanerheimat region in the western part of the Graz Region combines culture, nature and regional traditions in a distinctive way. Rolling hills, forested mountain landscapes and historic towns shape this area between Voitsberg, Köflach, Maria Lankowitz and the surrounding countryside.

The region is internationally known as the home of the famous white Lipizzaner horses. At the Lipizzanergestüt Piber, the horses of the renowned Spanish Riding School in Vienna are bred and raised. During the summer months, the Lipizzaners can be seen grazing on alpine pastures in the Stubalpe mountain area, offering visitors a unique insight into their natural environment.
