Few communities offer such a variety of gastronomic establishments. It is mainly traditional inns that cultivate traditional coziness and pamper their guests with a wide range of cuisine and cellar offerings. Whether mountain inns with a clear view far beyond Lake Constance, simple taverns, or gourmet restaurants with the noble flair of culinary elegance - all of them are very attentive to their guests.

Hiking trails offer the opportunity to explore the beautiful landscape. The educational trail "Schwendenweg" also provides historical insights into a tumultuous past.

You can reach the 1,064 m high Pfänder on foot or by cable car, even without mountaineering skills. Due to Lochau's excellent geographical location, you can also enjoy the view of the nearby three-country corner of Austria, Switzerland, and Germany from the Pfänder. In the summer months, the Bregenz Festival is a special cultural highlight. In just a few minutes, you can participate in this international festival from Lochau. The Bregenz Lake Stage is located nearby.

Approximately 7,000 residents enjoy living and working on around ten square kilometers of municipal area between Lake Constance and Pfänder. From the original hamlet settlements of Lochau Ort, Kugelbeer, Hofen, and Bäumle, along with the farm parcels on the mountain and the district of Tannenbach, a very large municipality has developed over the decades, where people feel comfortable and at home.
