Note for summer 2025: Due to renovations at the Carschinahütte SAC, overnight stays are currently not possible there.
Well-developed and frequently used high route with constantly changing views into the Prättigau valley. The path first leisurely passes the Drei Türme and the mighty Drusenfluh. Then the long-distance hike descends slightly to a spring below the Schweizertor. Along the Kirchlispitzen, the path climbs again. At Cavelljoch you stand directly on the Austrian border and enjoy a beautiful view of the Lünersee. To conclude this stage, a path leads via Golrosa to the Fadurer Fürggli and then undulates through the eastern flank of the Sassauna to the Eggli. Here you will find the cozy mountain restaurant Sassauna. The Fanas cable car then takes you back to the valley.

Good footwear, mountain hiking clothing adapted to the season (don’t forget spare clothes for changing), as well as a map in the backpack are equally recommended as headgear, sunglasses and sunscreen, drinking bottle and hiking provisions. Hiking poles increase surefootedness and relieve the joints.
The path is classified as T2 (mountain hiking) according to the SAC hiking scale. Definition path/terrain: path with continuous trail and balanced gradients. If marked: white-red-white. Terrain partially steep, risk of falling not excluded. Definition requirement: some surefootedness. Trekking shoes are recommended. Basic orientation skills required.
Attention dog owners:
As often seen in Graubünden, there are several alpine pastures in the Rätikon that are protected by livestock guardian dogs. Please observe the official recommendations and the zones.
Via the A13 to Landquart, further on the B28 to Küblis, then follow Luzeinerstrasse uphill to the left (northwards) to Pany.
The Fanas cable car will safely bring you back to the valley.
Right next to the valley station in Fanas is the bus stop. The postbus takes you directly to Schiers train station.
