Campodolcino

Campodolcino is located at an altitude of 1070 meters and is nestled on a plain that reveals suggestive views and landscapes in every season, where the mountain breeze touches the green summer meadows and the white roofs in winter, and the warmth of traditional flavors warms the heart.

In the area there are some corners to be discovered: Fraciscio, birthplace of San Luigi Guanella, with the suggestive Tibetan bridge, the mountain pastures of Servizio, Gualdera and Bondeno, with a wide panorama of the valley below and the peaks; Starleggia, starting point for the prehistoric site of Pian dei Cavalli, San Sisto with its huts or Alpe Motta with the characteristic Lago Azzurro. It is also an important stop on the Via Spluga, an original Roman road and a route rich in history, culture and different environments.

Spending your holidays between relaxation and sport is possible thanks to the fitness trail immersed in the woods, starting from the Acquamerla park up to the lake and the Prestone dam, and the various cycling and trekking routes. The sports center also offers the opportunity to practice sports such as soccer, tennis, basketball, and sport climbing at the municipal gym, while children can play in the various inclusive playgrounds in the area and at the adventure park in the summer months.

Campodolcino is also an ideal destination for winter sports enthusiasts. Via the underground Sky Express funicular, in just 3 minutes you can reach Alpe Motta, from where you can access all the ski facilities of the Ski Area Valchiavenna.
The area also offers the opportunity to practice winter Nordic walking, ski mountaineering, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on the approved 5 km track of Alpe Motta.
