From the village center of Grossarl, you cycle along the cycle path towards St. Johann.
At the Wimmbrücke (Grossarler Genuss), you cycle upwards. You pass several houses and farms will reach the forestry road before the Sonneggbrücke. The Saukaralm can be reached via a forestry road that runs through the forest most of the time. The Saukaralm is the highest mountain hut in Grossarltal and is situated at 1,850 m. Here you will be spoiled with a unique view to the surrounding mountains and delicious local specialties.
If you like, you can hike up the Saukarkopf.
ATTENTION: The forest road path no. 65B / mountain bike path no. GR 40 is closed until Friday June 7th, 2024 due to forestry work.
From the village center of Grossarl, you cycle to Unterberg. You cycle across the large parking space from the mountain railways and take the cycle path towards St. Johann. At the bridge, cross the street and follow the cycle path to hotel Schiederhof. At the Wimmbrücke (Grossaler Genuss) you turn right into the Sonneggweg. At the parking of the Saukaralm, you turn into the path no. 65B. After the barrier you cycle in direction to the Saukaralm, 1,820 m.

From the centre of Grossarl you reach the starting point of this tour via the valley cycle path in the direction of St. Johann im Pongau after approx. 4.2 km.
