This micro-cruise with two ferries over the Elbe connects the impressive Hanseatic city of Havelberg with the no less impressive small-scale Hanseatic city of Werben on the Elbe. But it is not only the silent ferry rides that make us dream, but also the natural Elbe landscape of the Elbe Biosphere Reserve in the Altmark.
On this easy 30-kilometer bike ride, there is enough time for sightseeing: the cathedral in Havelberg, the River Museum in Havelberg, the old town of Havelberg, and the Hanseatic city of Werben with its impressive brick church and picturesque town centre.
Midway through the bike ride, the Elbe floodplains welcome us with the manor house Büttnershof, offering a pleasant rest with excellent hospitality.
The route can also be started from the Hanseatic city of Havelberg, then with the ferry to the Hanseatic city of Werben and via the restaurant Büttnershof and the ferry in Sandau back to Havelberg.
We cycle through the Hanseatic city of Werben on the Altmark circular route to the ferry terminal in Räbel. The cable ferry takes us to Havelberg.
From the ferry terminal, we cycle the few kilometers along the House of Rivers to the bridge over the Havel.
We ride through the town and up the steep cathedral hill to the cathedral.
The return journey takes us through the old town, where we also reach the Elbe cycle path.
On this, we travel upstream along the Elbe to Sandau and its ferry terminal.
From the ferry terminal, it is only a few minutes to Büttnershof, where we reach the Altmark circular route.
On the Altmark circular route back to the Hanseatic city of Werben.
