Pfälzer Seentour

While cycling through quiet nature reserves like the "Schachenwald" or the "Western Palatinate Moor Depression," it’s all about enjoying nature and marveling at biodiversity. The "Heimerbrühl" along the romantic Glan delights mind and soul with sparkling water features. Shady forest passages, open meadows, babbling brooks, villages with diverse history, and of course the lakes invite you to discover or relax.

A highlight of the route is the Ohmbachsee, which with a water surface of about 15 ha is the largest contiguous water body in the Western Palatinate. Pedal boat rental, water playground, and many picnic spots invite you to linger. At the Kranichwoog near Hütschenhausen, you can observe water buffalo and wild birds. The Silbersee near Kindsbach, mainly used by the fishing club, offers pure idyll. In Miesenbach at the recreational area Seewoog, you’ll find variety and refreshment – thanks to the Kneipp facility and water playground.

Other water bodies along the way are the Mohrmühlweiher near Waldmohr and the pond of the fishing club Vogelbach near Bruchmühlbach-Miesau.

The route is ideal for families, recreational cyclists, and nature lovers, thanks to its mostly flat course. The culinary delicacies of the Palatinate can be discovered at the many gastronomy businesses along the Pfälzer Seentour.

TIP: Anyone who wants to bathe in a lake can reach the only bathing lake in the region via a detour (2 km, follow the "Sickinger Mühlenweg"): the Bärenlochweiher in Kindsbach.

Route surface:

Largely car-free on paved cycle paths as well as on agricultural and forest roads. In towns, partly on busy roads. For example, sidewalks exist in Landstuhl.

Start wherever you want: You can start the PFÄLZER SEENTOUR from any point you like. The mentioned parking lots or train stations/stops are recommended. At Landstuhl station, the starting point is north of the tracks. Here, use the underpass/elevator.
