The route crosses the Tessuolo also with another stone bridge, that of Casassa, partly hidden among dense woodland vegetation. The ascent mainly takes place in the broadleaf forest, touching some hamlets. At the beginning of spring, before the tree canopies close, numerous blossoms can be admired.
After passing the Turcin mill, following a pebble path, you walk instead in more open environments: the San Pietro hamlet of Coassolo, meadows and cultivations.
Returned to Lanzo, the last stretch is flat in a pleasant invasive woodland.
The path starts from the small square of Cates (trail marker 420), where there is an explanatory board. After an initial section through meadows, you enter the woods following the stream up to a bridge: turn right (signs for Mulino Turcin) and start ascending. Once you reach Case Magnetti, turn left, shortly after cross the road and take a small path alongside a narrow irrigation channel. Cross an asphalted lane once, then return to the path that runs along the ditch until you reach a sign indicating a right turn uphill. The path then becomes flat and leads to the Casassa bridge: after crossing it, you reach the asphalt road, descend it for a few meters before resuming the path that climbs to the left.
There you reach a junction with a flat path: turn right and shortly reach the Turcin mill. Cross the bridge and go up the small path to the asphalt road. Continue to the right and, shortly after, at the left fork: you reach a football field and resume the path that enters the woods. Ascend a little more until reaching a new asphalt road: take it to the right. This leads to the hamlet of San Pietro, walking flat until the intersection just above the municipal school: turn left and immediately after take a path descending to the right at the level of a beautiful pillar (trail marker 426). Shortly after, you cross a small asphalt lane: turn left and at the pillar turn right, passing by the garden of a house. You again reach an asphalt lane, descend right until reaching the main road, and at the intersection continue straight ahead, cutting through some switchbacks across the meadows. You reach a lane with a hedge: turn left and then immediately right downhill: path and then again lane to take to the left. Arriving at a junction, take the path found on the right side of the intersection. Cross an asphalt road again and enter a cart track leading to a wood storage clearing and an electric tower: keep to the left of the square and immediately resume descending. You then reach a residential area: follow the long straight road between houses at the end of which a path descends into the woods. You arrive at the road climbing from Lanzo: cross it and arrive in front of the little church of Sant'Anna. Descend and cross the main road again to walk flat along the straight road to Cates. Continue along the roadside until a sign indicates a path on the left which initially passes beside some old sheds, then continues in a small wood by the stream to the starting point.
Non-slip sole footwear recommended, wind/rain protection, a warm layer, hiking poles advised.
The itinerary can be very wet and slippery after periods of heavy rain.
Reach Lanzo, without entering the center, taking via Matteotti: cross the railway tracks and at the next roundabout turn right (signs for Coassolo). Continue and turn left in the Cates hamlet. Follow the road to its end.
Lanzo Torinese is reached by the Torino - Caselle - Ceres railway line.
From the station to the starting point there are almost 2 km of additional distance: exit the station, turn right and cross the bridge over the Tesso stream; then turn left onto Monte Angiolino street and subsequently take Regione Cates road.
For the return, when about to finish the loop, upon reaching the little church of Sant'Anna, it is advisable to turn left towards the center of Lanzo to catch the train.
There is ample parking in the small square of Cates.
