The perfect training opportunity for ski tourers: a specially prepared ascent track over 3.2 kilometers. The starting point is Pardiel, easily accessible by cable car from Bad Ragaz. From there, there is a climb of just under 600 meters to the finish at Laufböden at 2,226 meters. The reward is the unique view of the Rhine Valley with views as far as Lake Constance.
We start the tour at the top station of the Bad Ragaz - Pardiel gondola lift. From there we zigzag towards Obersäss. At the beginning, we cross various ski slopes that come together at Pardiel. Once we reach Obersäss, we first cross the See-Egg slope and then the Tritt slope. From here, there is a short ascent parallel to the Schwamm chairlift. We continue under the chairlift to the Tritt piste, which we cross one last time. The second part of the hike follows the unprepared but secured downhill route to Laufböden.
The descent is via the regular pistes from Laufböden. Descents on the day ski touring piste are not permitted.
Touring skis, skins, crampons if necessary, ski poles, ski helmet, avalanche equipment with avalanche transceiver, avalanche probe and avalanche shovel, ski touring rucksack (approx. 30 liters) with avalanche airbag and rain cover, ski touring boots, ski socks, warm and hard-wearing clothing with multiple layers, ski touring jacket and trousers, light gloves for the ascent, warm gloves for the descent, hat/headband, ski goggles if necessary, sun and rain cover, ski boots, ski socks, warm and hard-wearing clothing with multiple layers, ski touring jacket and trousers, light gloves for the ascent, warm gloves for the descent, hat/headband, ski goggles if necessary. Ski goggles, sun and rain protection, provisions and drinking water, thermos flask with hot drink, first aid kit, pocket knife, cell phone, maps, bivouac sack and rescue blanket
The day ski tour piste is also used as a winter hiking trail. In addition, the route requires various ski slope crossings. Please adhere to the generally applicable rules, make sure that there is no danger to yourself or other piste users before crossing the slopes and when setting off, and adapt your behavior accordingly so that no one is endangered, harmed or restricted in their activities.
The piste is accessible during the day. At night, the piste is groomed and is therefore closed for safety reasons.
