Gourette, a concentrate of pleasure

Located at the heart of the resort and accessible via the Bézou gondola, Happy Place gives beginners, children and leisure skiers the chance to test their skills in complete safety on 14 hectares of gentle slopes. The slopes are specially designed to make learning fun, with fun runs and freestyle ski initiation modules. Medium-difficulty runs allow contemplative and leisurely skiers to skirt the summits of the resort and enjoy an exceptional panorama. Experienced skiers will find their thrills at Pène-Blanque and Cotch, where they can hurtle down a wide variety of technical runs in a north-facing cirque, guaranteed to provide cold, soft snow and quality powder. Last but not least, nature lovers will find an area dedicated to Nordic activities (snowshoeing and cross-country skiing) and nature activities (trail running)*.

In 1903, Henri Sallenave introduced skiing to Gourette for the first time in the Pyrenees, an activity that was to revolutionise the mountain economy. Over the years, the ski area has grown and developed, and is now equipped with ultra-modern facilities that make it easier to get to and from the lifts. Once you've left your car in the free 1,200-space car park, the free Ley gondola takes you to the heart of the resort in just 3 minutes. Once there, there's no need for a car, as all the services can be accessed on foot. Close to the motorway, close to Pau and all its amenities (airport, train station), Gourette is renowned for its easy access and relatively short climb up to the resort.
