Naturally refreshing – a variety of adventures, from the valley to the glacier
SUMMER IS IN!
The holiday region of Tux-Finkenberg lies in one of the most beautiful alpine valleys of the Austrian Alps, in the Tyrolean Zillertal valley, at a healthy altitude of 850 to 3,250 metres above sea level. This is where families, nature lovers, mountain and snow sports enthusiasts are able to discover the incredible diversity that the Alps have to offer in summer: Fresh mountain air, spectacular landscapes, lush meadows with an abundance of flora, clear waters, impressive mountain peaks and plenty of space for recreation and relaxation!
SUMMER IS SPORT AND HEALTH!
Nature lovers, hiking enthusiasts and summiteers can leave everyday life behind and experience true alpine splendour in the hikers’ paradise of Tux-Finkenberg. Hikers are provided a total of 350 km of trails, Nordic walkers 150 km and mountain bikers 130 km. The trails run through diversified landscapes, embracing practically everything that one could wish to find on a nature holiday: Healthy mountain air, crashing waterfalls and crystal clear mountain lakes, quaint mountain pastures and traditional huts, impressive peaks and the eternal ice of the Hintertux Glacier, Austria’s only all-year skiing resort.
SUMMER IS RECREATION AND UNFOLDING OF THE SENSES
Explore the 379 km² expanse of the Zillertal Alps High Mountain Nature Park – a pristine nature reserve. Up to three guided tours are offered daily to allow you to discover scores of the countless treasures that the nature reserve has to offer. Those seeking a more easy-going form of recreation can take one of the summer lifts, Wandertaxis (hiking taxis) and/or the free Wanderbus (hiking bus) to get within reaching distance of the summits. E-mountain-bike rental at the specialist sports shops in Tux-Finkenberg from EUR 25.00 per day!!!
SUMMER IS EXPERIENCE OF FREEDOM AND NATURE !
Tux-Finkenberg guarantees “ice cool action” all year round: The Hintertux Glacier, Austria’s only all year skiing resort, is a mountain full of frozen adventure worlds. While elsewhere the dream of summer skiing has already melted away, here you can still fully enjoy up to 18 kilometres of glacier slopes and alpine sun. Just a couple of minutes’ walk away from the “Gefrorene Wand” top station is the entrance to the mystical depths of Nature’s Ice Palace. Experience fairy-tale ice formations created by nature itself. The next cave wonder is to be found at the foot of the glacier tongue. Here is the largest accessible natural cave in the Central Alps, the Spannagelhöhle cave. However, the best thing about the Hintertux Glacier is: After arriving at the underground car park of the valley station, you can easily reach the most amazing viewing platform, the panorama terrace at 3,250 metres above sea level on the Hintertux Glacier, without encountering any barriers at all, which means that pushchairs, wheelchairs etc. have unimpeded access.
SUMMER IS COOL!
The right offer for both parents and children is a crucial factor that goes to make a successful family holiday experience. The ultimate children’s programme created by the family specialists in Tux-Finkenberg is simply amazing, and the great outdoors is our playground. Experience the thrill of canyoning on a tour through the Zemmschlucht canyon, the pride of building a tree house or the exhilaration of a Kneipp footbath in the footprints of the Tux Giant that have been left behind in the Tuxbach brook. The 8 km long Tuxbach Adventure Trail features lots of play stations that help to bring kids closer to nature. The “Erlebnisfreibad Finkenberg” Outdoor Water Park guarantees cool refreshment on hot days. The Family Flaming Torch Hike to the “Riesenfeuerschlange” (Giant Fire Snake) is great fun for adventurers of all ages. If weather conditions aren’t so fair, there’s absolutely no reason to become gloomy, because a 1,000 m² large indoor games hall – the Playarena in Tux-Vorderlanersbach – offers everything that a child’s heart could possibly desire: High-rope course, climbing wall, go-kart track, giant slides, trampoline park, a mega soft play area and lots more. An absolute highlight that shouldn’t be missed is most certainly the legendary snowball fight at the Gletscherflohpark on the Hintertux Glacier, the highest playground in Europe – even in the middle of summer! A totally unique experience!
