Excursion destination for the whole family

Lake Etrachsee is a lake in the Austrian municipality of Krakau in the district of Murau in Styria. It is located at 1374 meters above sea level in the Krakautal, a high plateau of the Schladminger Tauern.

The lake is about 4 meters deep and is flowed through by the Etrachbach. This has its source north of the lake, it flows in a north-south direction and flows into the Rantenbach on the left side in Krakau.

The lake has a natural stock of brown trout, Arctic char, brook trout and rainbow trout.

Hiking around the lake, fly fishing, boating, refreshments, children's playground.

  • Free access all year round, best seasons: May to October
