The approximately 32 meter high observation tower on Kleeberg is an impressive structure.

You reach the platform at a height of 25m via 140 steps, the total height of the tower is 32 meters. This observation tower was designed and planned by the architect DI Johann Wahlhütter and the sculptor Fred Höfler.

  • Initial situation: The community of Labuch is located in the middle of the sunny, fertile hills southwest of Gleisdorf. Peace and tranquility on the one hand, warm togetherness and a lively cultural life on the other hand are the energy moments of this community. The municipality of Labuch is the southernmost municipality in the energy region and the northeastern part of the Styrian Hilly Country. The ridge offers a fantastic view. As the beginning and end of the energy region, a vantage point should be created that raises awareness of the topic of energy and space.
  • The topic: A viewing point should be created based on the staircase structure. Intended as a place to observe the landscape and the vastness, this almost virtual space made up of ten glass frames is a sign that can be clearly seen from the immediate and wider surroundings.
  • The location: Labuch was chosen as the location, located on a ridge - on the offshoot of the Raabtal cycle path R 11.

The car park is open free of charge from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Please make sure to leave the premises by 9 p.m. as the barrier closes automatically.
