Cross-country skiing has been a tradition in the Hotzenwald for over 40 years. The forerunners of today's network of cross-country ski trails were called Gugelspur and Möslespur, later Klausenhof-, Erlenberg- and Ödlandspur were added. The floodlit trail and the Bühlloipe trail were the perfect additions. Since 2002, cross-country ski trails in the Herrischried and Görwihl areas have been linked by connecting trails to form a common cross-country ski centre.

The entire network and the groomed winter hiking trails are managed by the Loipenverein Hotzenwald e.V. founded in 2003. The members' contributions finance the majority of the work, while the two municipalities help to the best of their ability. In addition, there are sponsors and donations.

What could be better than gliding on powder snow in the freezing cold, in a varied landscape with views of the Alps from Säntis to Mt Blanc? There's no better way to get away from it all.

50 km of groomed trails in *classic technique, including 20 km for skating, 2.3 km of floodlit trails three evenings a week, numerous car parks and access points, bus stops, a toboggan run, a catered trail house and a number of inns along the trails leave nothing to be desired.

Have you already made your contribution to maintaining this magnificent sports and leisure facility? You will find cash desks at the entrances to Grossherrischwand and Segeten as well as in the trail centre.

Registration cards for membership are available at the local inns and tourist information centres.
Daily fee: 5,- Euro (cross-country ticket office) or annual membership fee in the cross-country skiing association: 15,- Euro.
We have not increased the fee; if you wish, you can put any additional amount in the box or pay online at the start using the QR code on the Sparkasse advertising board.
